I have two medium to large lawns, and this mower makes quick work of them. I like it a lot. My front lawn is a little uneven with hardly any weeds. Mulches great! Back is about 25 to 30% weeds. I sometimes wait to mow the back a little too long. However, if I side discharge it first, then mulch back over it, I never even have to dump clippings. The Briggs & Stratton engine runs strong. But if you need a Weed mower instead of a LAWN mower, you might want the 190cc engine.

(More customer reviews)The mower came all assembled (except for needing oil added) and started right off.I've never had a self propelled mower before, so it took some getting use to having to walk at the mower's speed (I seem to want to walk faster).But, it mows the grass very nicely.So far, all I've done is mulch, but it does it very well.And, I don't end up tired when I'm done mowing like I did on my "push" mower.I think this is going to work out very well for me.

Toro Recycler Self-Propelled Mower Briggs & Stratton 7.0 TP (22") #20332 Review

(More customer reviews)The quality of cut is below what I've come to expect from my commercial mower - but hey, this only cost 1/25th of what it did.After a month of owning it and running it near 60 hours, it seems reliable.Starts 75% of the time on the first pull and always by the second.The drive belt chatters some if the grass is juicy and collects on the belt.It does a near flawless job in Tall Fescue, but leaves stragglers and obvious wheel tracks in Kentucky Blue Grass.The bagging system seems to work well.I mainly use it in mulching mode - or, if the grass is tall, discharge mode.It cuts best with the front of the deck set to your intended cutting height and the rear set higher by one notch.And, speaking of tall grass, it does a pretty good job cutting tall grass (6-8") at the highest wheel setting (4" on this mower) compared to other 22" mowers I've had.I tried switching the blade to the Gator #96-607 blade, which doesn't really improve the quality of cut, but it does seem to last longer before it needs sharpening.The Gator also seems to have a slight advantage in clipping dispersal when in discharge mode.The cleaning port does ok to rinse out the bulk of what collects under the deck - but if you wait long after you finish cutting and the grass dries under the deck, all bets are off.Taller clippings collect around the blade shroud and must be removed manually from time to time.Granted, I'm picky - and to get a better cutting 22" mower will likely cost twice as much.All in all, not too bad.

However, the engine needs to be upgraded to at least 6.75 horsepower. For my lawn it appears underpowered and this is a self propelled unit. Secondly, the back wheel support brackets(axles) need to be stronger asboth wheels tend to bow inward from weight of the mower. Finally, adjusting wheels is easy; but, leveling of the cut has been difficult. Maybe, its my lawn being uneven, not for sure.

(More customer reviews)This is one great lawn mower! Very simple, turn the key it starts immediately no pulling on a rope. The self drive bar is very controllable, the drive speed ranges from creep along to run behind. The mower is the same as the Lawn-Boy 10642 except for us folks in CA we pay an extra $20 for CARB Compliant. This lawn mower makes cutting the grass a very easy and quick process. Since TORO is the product of choice for professionals, and Lawn-Boy is made by TORO, you are getting a very well constructed and reliable consumer product with this mower. Also the 6.5 GT Briggs & Stratton engine is really a much better product than the Honda engines on many consumer mowers. The Honda engines on consumer products isn't the same as the commercial Honda Engines that earned Honda a high reputation. The only problem I experienced was that FedEx damaged the box in transit, not Amazon's fault. The oil container broke open on the damaged corner and the box and mower was covered in oil when it arrived. Amazon customer service offered me the option of sending out a new replacement unit FedEx overnight or a compensation credit for my clean up time of the oil covered unit. I have never been disappointed with Amazon's customer service over the years, that is why I always visit their site first for all my purchases.

I did not use the bag and it mulched the leaves into little pieces! It works really well! I am very happy!Update...Here it is April 2010 and I uncovered the mower, put some fresh gasoline in it and turned the key......It cranked right away! I thought that I might have to baby it since it had not been used in several months!! No such thing!! I am so glad that I bought this and you will be also!

(More customer reviews)While this is not the classic Lawn Boy of old with a 2-cycle engine and aluminum deck, it is a quality mower with great features for the price.Lawn Boy is owned by Toro, and this is an entry level line added by Toro to extend Lawn Boys product line.It comes with a great 2 year warranty if you have any doubts.

First and foremost, it is a rear-drive mower (better than front drive) for a price less than other brands charge for front drive.Briggs and Stratton is a quality engine that usually outlasts the mower decks. Yes, its 6.5 Torque, not HP, but most mowers are rating by torque now.

Mine started in 1 pull right out of the box (after adding oil and gas).The rear drive is powerful and variable speed by the handle (another handy feature).

Yes, it does do side discharge. The accessory for side discharge is not included in the box (since many only mulch or bag), but Lawn Boy will send it for FREE if you request it (by mail per included postcard or online during registration).Mine came in less than a week, although they say it may take 4-5 weeks.

The other reviewers must have been expecting the top of the line Lawn Boy at a bargain price.This is a quality mower, and when you compare it feature for feature even lower end mowers can stack up to it for the price.

The Lawn-Boy 10641 is ready to mulch, bag, or side discharge, depending on your needs. Without the bag, the mower will mulch the grass and leaf clippings back into your lawn. Alternatively, you can collect the grass and leaf clippings directly into the bag, leaving your lawn neat and clean.
For further convenience, the height of the blades is easily adjustable by setting the oversized handle grips to one of the large notches on each wheel. There are 7 different heights available between 1 and 4 inches, so you'll be sure to find the perfect setting for your lawn.

Built with you in mind, the Lawn-Boy 10641 has plenty of user-friendly features. To start, a one-piece handle increases maneuverability, and the lightweight, 20-inch steel cutting deck is perfect for mowing in tight areas.
Additionally, the top-mounted bagging system makes it easy to empty and replace the bag by simply inserting or removing the grass bag handle from the two notches at the base of the mower handle.
