The Poulan mower is ready for mulching, is reasonably light weight (about 20% lighter than the mower, having very similar specs, it replaced), and rolls very smoothly.I am unable to see the mulched clippings.This mower is a joy to use!

(More customer reviews)First off let me say that i've never wrote a review before.I usually have luck with items and usually buy items based upon other reviews.This time I wasn't so lucky.I bought this item last year (June 2008).It ran fine for the summer/fall.I did everything I was supposed to do to winterize it (drain gas, oil, clean old grass clippings, clean air filter, unplug spark plug, etc...). Come April 2009, I add oil, gas, etc.. and the thing just wouldn't start.I tried everything but couldn't even get a spark from the engine. I called Poulan Pro but was never able to speak to a live person. I finally just brought it into an "authorized" poulan pro service shop, which I located on [...].A few weeks later, they called me and told me my mower was ready and that there is a $143 charge and it's not covered under warranty. They said it was dirty inside and that they had to take apart the whole carburetor to clean it. From regular use, the whole carburetor got dirty and this caused it to stop working?? Now it is May 2009, the mower is running but who knows for how long. I will never buy another Poulan Pro product again.

In short, do not buy this.My last mower was a Toro and lasted me 8 years and I wish I had bought another.Go get a name brand mower like Toro or John Deere and you will be better off.

(More customer reviews)I bought this bagger with a bit of trepidation because really I wanted something a bit bigger.The bagger on my old mower had three bins and held a bit more.However, I have found this bagger to be quite good.It attaches [and detaches] from the mower quite easily.The capacity is good and the fact that it is "soft-sided" is a nice innovation.Being "soft-sided" has the advantages that: 1. it allows airflow through so that more leaves/grass can be collected, and 2. it is convenient when dumping.Poulan has also found a reasonable solution to the problem of how to determine when the bags are full.There is a little wheel on the chute which starts to spin when the bags get full.This works well.[On my old mower the "full" detection device did not work.By the time it showed "full" the chute was filled with leaves/grass and a manual clean out was necessary.]

The only reason I gave this a 4 star rating rather than a 5 star rating is the fact that it is 2 bags rather than 3 across the back.But overall I have found it to be quite satisfactory.

(More customer reviews)I received the product as pictured in Amazon and in new condition.However the Owner's manual and registration card were missing. I contacted Poulan and they helped me with the registration and sent me a PDF of the Owner's Manual.The only assembly necessary is the handle and it was easy but I used my old lawn mower's bolts and hand tighteners for the lawn mower handle assembly because the originals were hard fro me to tighten sufficiently.The performance of the engine is very good and easy to start with the recoil-pull-the-rope starter.I find this type of starter a good value for me and this lawn mower.The cut of the grass is less than desired: it shreds the blades instead of cutting the blades and it leaves the shredded turf tops.I checked the blade and it is very sharp.It cuts bermuda easier and better than it does St. Augustine Grass.I've been cutting my grass twice a week recently because of it's growth and because I am trying to make it easier on me, the grass, and the lawn mower.With the seven inch wheels it is difficult to push on St. Augustine grass (and I have the height as high as it can go).So far I recommend the lawn mower if you are interested in a basic gas mower without the bells and whistles and your total grass to cut at one time is no more than 60 feet X 100 feet.By the way, the mower runs out of gas, even where there is still about one half inch of gas left in the tank.

(More customer reviews)First, the mower is a good value for the price. Easy to start & adjusting wheels for cutting level.

However, the engine needs to be upgraded to at least 6.75 horsepower. For my lawn it appears underpowered and this is a self propelled unit. Secondly, the back wheel support brackets(axles) need to be stronger asboth wheels tend to bow inward from weight of the mower. Finally, adjusting wheels is easy; but, leveling of the cut has been difficult. Maybe, its my lawn being uneven, not for sure.
