(More customer reviews)I'm sorry to report that this Gator blade for my 21" Craftsman mower works poorly; it looks great out of the box, but its performance, at least for me, is poor.I have to re-cut the grass to eliminate the clumps and bunches of un-mulched grass.The original Sears blade works as well, if not better.I am disappointed.

(More customer reviews)Amazon is beginning to sell more and more replacement parts for Swisher mowers. I am glad to see this because I own a couple of Swisher Z-Max mowers. I mow a lot of grass and usually these blades last me about a season. These are made for Swisher mowers and they are exactly the same blade that came on the mower. They are priced less on Amazon than from [...], lawn parts store or any Swisher repair center.

I keep several blades on hand and change all 3 (at the same time)every year. They can handle tall grass very well. They provide a clean and even cut on all types of lawns. These are basically Gator blades meaning they can cleanly cut through any type of grass. These are also tough and hold up well when I hit a rock or hard object. I am glad to see Amazon selling these because Swisher is a small company and parts are hard to find. If you own a Swisher mower I would advise you to get a set of these. (Make sure your Swisher mower is the correct model number for this specific blade though.)

(More customer reviews)I have use this blade now for the past two years on my Craftsman mower.I can now mulch since this blade will chop up the grass in such small pieces that it usually will not lay on top of the lawn (exception is when the grass damp or pretty long).

Original blade would never work well enough to ever mulch my grass.I have learned over the past two years to mow more oftenlike @ 20% sooner then you would when bagging an this has eliminated the clumping problem.I have a hunch that the blade would work better on a different mower but have no proof of it till I buy ANYTHING other than a Sears mower.

(More customer reviews)Stupid me, I ordered 3 of these for my Cub Cadet 1554 not realizing the blades are 19 inch each. AS CLEARLY STATED IN SPECs (which I did not notice)
So I'm very curious how they make them fit a 54 inch deck? 3X19=57
Needless to say they did not fit my 54 inch deck.
They are very heavy duty blades and I may just cut ½ an inch off each side and give them a try.
But, out of the box they do not fit the 54 inch deck of the GT 1554, which requires 3 18 inch blades.

Clippings are noticeably finer; also mower doesn't bog at all when going through a deep patch. Might be just b/c the blade is brand new, for the extra couple bucks it worth it.

(More customer reviews)I purchased to mulch on a newer sears craftsman riding mower.These blades replaced a Sears mulching kit that was just a few months old, but wasn't mulching very well.I have an extremely think 1.5 acre lawn, and unlike the Sears blades, the Oregon blades mulch it just great.I find I get the best results when I remove the mulch plug and have the Oregon Gator blades on the tractor.The thing that surprises me the most, however, is that the cutting is also better than the Sears mulching blade.I get a much more even cut from these than from the Sears mulching blades.I had read the cutting is better in other reviews, I guess because the blades are heavier, but I really am surprised by the extent of the difference.Bottom line, they work!

(More customer reviews)This blade is a direct replacement for my Lawn-Boy 10686 mower.I searched around online and according to reviews, the Gator blades seemed to be one of the better blades for mulching.In the past few years I've been mulching as opposed to bagging.The original Lawn-Boy blade wasn't too bad, but it would clump sometimes on the lower height settings.I was about due for a blade anyhow so I opted for the Gator blade to see if it would do a better job.While the Gator blade "looks" more aggressive, I can see no discernible difference from the OEM blade when mulching.It equally leaves clumps and bogs down the 6.75hp motor on the lower height settings (#2 in my case) and mulches just as well on the medium height setting (#2.5).So in the end, not too much to say here if you are comparing it with an OEM Lawn-Boy blade.I'd compare prices and go with whichever is cheaper (OEM vs Gator).
