(More customer reviews)After owning 3 Lawn Boy's and Sears Craftsman mowers,I have to say that this is by far the best mower I have owned in years. My previous mower was/is a lawn boy 2 stroke. I liked it, but it was very smelly and frequently broken. Luckily, it was easy to repair. I just got tired of constantly having to fix something, so I did some research and decided on this unit. The first time I used it I was expecting to have to empty the grass bag frequently as with my lawn boy, but it shredded the clipping so fine it seemed like the bag would never get full. I used to empty the bag on my lawn boy many times just doing the back yard, but with this machine I only had to empty it 2 times.
If your looking for a new mower, I would highly recommend any of the super recycler mowers.
They also come with a simple yet ingenious wash out connection. just connect a hose to the fitting, turn on the water, and start the motor. No more grass build up under the deck.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the PO550N21rh3x mower as a replacement for an older mower. It starts right away. It's a great mower for the price. I have two medium to large lawns, and this mower makes quick work of them. I like it a lot. My front lawn is a little uneven with hardly any weeds. Mulches great! Back is about 25 to 30% weeds. I sometimes wait to mow the back a little too long. However, if I side discharge it first, then mulch back over it, I never even have to dump clippings. The Briggs & Stratton engine runs strong. But if you need a Weed mower instead of a LAWN mower, you might want the 190cc engine.
Out of six stars;

(More customer reviews)The mower came all assembled (except for needing oil added) and started right off.I've never had a self propelled mower before, so it took some getting use to having to walk at the mower's speed (I seem to want to walk faster).But, it mows the grass very nicely.So far, all I've done is mulch, but it does it very well.And, I don't end up tired when I'm done mowing like I did on my "push" mower.I think this is going to work out very well for me.

(More customer reviews)I too purchase this mower on sale at Menards to replace a Snapper with a Briggs engine which had starting/run issues starting after 3 years. I did not do much research on this mower, but remembered good comments on Kohler years back when looking for a mower. Appearently, Kohler uses heavy duty components even in their smaller engines. The price was competitive on this unit, but for $50 more I could have got a name brand mower with a Honda engine with variable speed at Lowes. I believe Lowes would replace the unit if I did not like it.

Performance wise, this mower is bagging grass fine. I thought maybe the bag would not hold much,as compared with my prior mower, but holds about 3/4 of a garbage can and does not clog up like my former mower. Cutting thick long grass did not slow mowing performance. Engine has nice, not too loud hum to it when running. I takes one to two pulls to start when changing bags on a hot engine. The engine needs no priming and this may cause an additional pull on a hot engine. Cold engine started with one pull. I looked on Sears web site to check reviews on what others thought of this engine and nearly all were favorable.

This mower has front wheel drive and has OK traction. My Snapper had rear wheel traction and that was better, but inclines are the only area of concern. I just lift the handle up a bit and that forces more pressure to the front tires and all is fine.

I think this should be a good mower, but time will tell.

Toro Recycler (20") 159cc 2-in-1 Push Lawn Mower - 20323 Review

(More customer reviews)If not, like those of us who have full-time jobs, and you'd actually like to take more than 1 inch off of your lawn each time you mow, you should buy a different mower.
I have owned this mower for only a month and it does indeed cut the lawn, but it does not recycle, nor does it bag.

The "recycler" simply slaps gobs of finely ground/pureed grass onto the walls of the deck until the blade becomes off-balance and begins to grind excessively until the engine starts bogging down.Of course this is terrible for the longevity of engine life.I have had to kill the mower after only 2-3 rows, 25ft long, to let the majority of the mulched/pureed grass drop out of the deck.Then begin again.

The "bagger" does basically the same thing, once the grass is mush, the mower tries to shoot it into the bag through a tiny hole which then gets clogged due to the extreme amounts of moisture and lack of space to actually push the grass to the back of the bag. Yes, I waited for a week of dry, hot summer sun, and still the same result.Plants retain moisture.

I am no nubie to mowing lawns either, I worked for a lawn care company for several years, we used Toro products, I like them, correction, I LIKED them (in regards to this product anyway).But I was let-down after purchasing this model.I am also a motorcycle mechanic so I know what is bad for engines.

If this mower had a side discharge it MAY have been a decent product, but who knows. The manual even claims to have a rear discharge chute/deflector, however the dealer had no clue about it and couldn't even find it in their database.

I'll let you know if that changes anything if they ever find it for me to test out.

(More customer reviews)The quality of cut is below what I've come to expect from my commercial mower - but hey, this only cost 1/25th of what it did.After a month of owning it and running it near 60 hours, it seems reliable.Starts 75% of the time on the first pull and always by the second.The drive belt chatters some if the grass is juicy and collects on the belt.It does a near flawless job in Tall Fescue, but leaves stragglers and obvious wheel tracks in Kentucky Blue Grass.The bagging system seems to work well.I mainly use it in mulching mode - or, if the grass is tall, discharge mode.It cuts best with the front of the deck set to your intended cutting height and the rear set higher by one notch.And, speaking of tall grass, it does a pretty good job cutting tall grass (6-8") at the highest wheel setting (4" on this mower) compared to other 22" mowers I've had.I tried switching the blade to the Gator #96-607 blade, which doesn't really improve the quality of cut, but it does seem to last longer before it needs sharpening.The Gator also seems to have a slight advantage in clipping dispersal when in discharge mode.The cleaning port does ok to rinse out the bulk of what collects under the deck - but if you wait long after you finish cutting and the grass dries under the deck, all bets are off.Taller clippings collect around the blade shroud and must be removed manually from time to time.Granted, I'm picky - and to get a better cutting 22" mower will likely cost twice as much.All in all, not too bad.

I have tried everywhere to find one but can't. E-mails to Poulan are not replied to and the 1-800 number is a recording saying to call during normal hours (I called 2 hours after they were supposed to be open). Don't buy this thing.

(More customer reviews)This mower seems good overall - I didnt realize it had electronic start and it arrived with everything except the keys!I tracked down the manufacturer and they sent me new ones in a week or so.And the pull start works without keys so I was able to mow.It was pretty easy to assemble but it sure weighs a lot.I have never had a power drive mower before so maybe they are all heavy.It doesnt always start on the first few tries but will after 4-5 pulls usually. It cuts very well and the bagger fits on nicely.

The manufacturer's rep characterized the mulching use as "abuse" and said it was not covered by warranty.I should note I used a Snapper mower under the same circumstances for over twenty-five years.

Used it last summer, put it away for winter and all the oil had drained out creating a huge mess. Home Depot, where I purchased it said that they've had problems with it but since I had put gasoline in it they couldn't accept it as a return.

(More customer reviews)First, the mower is a good value for the price. Easy to start & adjusting wheels for cutting level.

However, the engine needs to be upgraded to at least 6.75 horsepower. For my lawn it appears underpowered and this is a self propelled unit. Secondly, the back wheel support brackets(axles) need to be stronger asboth wheels tend to bow inward from weight of the mower. Finally, adjusting wheels is easy; but, leveling of the cut has been difficult. Maybe, its my lawn being uneven, not for sure.
