(More customer reviews)I had been looking for this type of grass catcher for quite some time and at the right price. Each time I found it, it was close to $100.00 and so I thought that I'd try second-hand stores and yard sales but never found any and plus, 17" grass catchers were tricky to find. I tried Ebay and still nothing. Finally, I found it on Amazon for half the price of local gardening stores. It was initially out of stock but Amazon informed me by email when they had it availiable. The catcher fits perfectly on my McLane lawnmower and does it's job of grass catching superbly. It seems very durable and I hope that it lasts for a long time. The shipping was very fast and I am very satisfied with my product and would recommend this item and my experience with Amazon to anyone. Thanks.

(More customer reviews)I own two acres and the Ariens Zoom 42" zero turn mower is perfect for me.It has a peppy 16.5 Briggs engine with a spin on oil filter.Prior to my purchase of the Ariens and with much weed eating, it took me almost 5 hours to do my lawn.With the Ariens, it takes 2 hours including minimal weed eating.Because of its very adept handling, I had little to do once I finished the main mowing.It took about an hour to get used to the steering set up and the lack of brakes.The mower is comfortable with springs under the seat.A push pedal is used to raise and lower the mower deck making it very simple to adjust the cut.The 42" cut is great to get around trees and bushes while it's large enough to cover a considerable area.The only gripe I have is something that is probably my fault.I inadvertently hit a small poplar tree trunk with the rubber/plastic/composite grass shield and split it in half.I've never had this happen before with any mower.I spliced it back together with rivets and pieces of sheet metal, and it's holding up.I bought the Ariens because it was made in America, because of its reasonable price, and because of Consumer Reports and other reviews I have read.

(More customer reviews)I bought this bagger with a bit of trepidation because really I wanted something a bit bigger.The bagger on my old mower had three bins and held a bit more.However, I have found this bagger to be quite good.It attaches [and detaches] from the mower quite easily.The capacity is good and the fact that it is "soft-sided" is a nice innovation.Being "soft-sided" has the advantages that: 1. it allows airflow through so that more leaves/grass can be collected, and 2. it is convenient when dumping.Poulan has also found a reasonable solution to the problem of how to determine when the bags are full.There is a little wheel on the chute which starts to spin when the bags get full.This works well.[On my old mower the "full" detection device did not work.By the time it showed "full" the chute was filled with leaves/grass and a manual clean out was necessary.]

The only reason I gave this a 4 star rating rather than a 5 star rating is the fact that it is 2 bags rather than 3 across the back.But overall I have found it to be quite satisfactory.

(More customer reviews)THIS IS A FIRST CLASS PRODUCT!I recently bought an Ariens 46" lawn tractor and decided that I needed a grass bagger to pick up the clippings.I'm too old to rake clippings.With some research I found that the Poulan Pro came in the 46" deck size, and that it was made to fit the Ariens and Husquavarna tractors as well.Since Amazon had it at $249 with free shipping I decided to give it a go.THAT SAVED ME OVER A HUNDRED BUCKS OVER THE TRACTOR ONLINE STORE PRICE.YEAH!It arrived in one big box from Fed Ex.When I opened it I found the instructions and a bag with 4 one inch shoulder bolts.I thought they have lost the hardware.Wrong.That's all the hardware YOU HAVE TO INSTALL!I installed the 4 shoulder bolts for the tractor arm at the back of the Ariens.The Arm slides onto that and attaches to it with an ingenius locking lever already attached.You slide it down and it clicks locked. IT IS OFFSET TO THE RIGHT SIDE AND DOESN'T AFFECT THE BALL COUPLER I HAVE ON THE BACK OF MY TRACTOR. Then the rear bagger bracket that holds the lid and bags slides down onto that arm(all the clips and such are already in place on it)Gee that took 10 minutes.Then I found the shoot came in 2 sections.The lower section had a tab and two eye holes for the springs, and all I had to do was raise the safety guard, line up the tab and clip those spring hooks into their respective eyeholes.Gee that took another 10 minutes.The top section is a little trickier but once you see how it lines up and clips together it is pretty easy too.It is held secured by an already installed bungi connector.The upper shoot has a handle built in to help you rotate it to slide onto the alignment device.Clip the bungi and it is all connected.The main thing is to keep the seal in place where the shoot goes into the rear box.You have to pay attention there.In 30 minutes I was ready to cut.I had no idea how many grass clippings my yard would produce.I have a difficult yard with a steep hill in back and swingsets and kids toys to dodge.But off to mow I went.My lawn filled the twin bags three times.You just stop, lift the lid, and slide out the bags off of their rails, empty them and replace. The right bag lip goes over the left one when you reinstall.The two bags share a center rail.No biggie!That operation is fast and easy too.THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS IS THAT THE GRASS BAGGER REALLY WORKS GREAT!Installation is a snap, everything lines up perfectly.[hint, you don't need the more expensive quick connect version of the bagger.This already quick connects and everything you need is included.]It even has a little red spinner on the upper shoot to tell you when the bags are full. Poulan Rocks!My lawn never looked better.No more raking clippings and leaves for this old guy!BRING ON THE FALL, I'M READY!

Lawn Boy 89906 Staggered Wheel Lawn Mower Bag Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I installed this bag kit on an older Lawn Boy Gold series stagger wheeled mower. The mower was originally set up as a mulcher, so it is equipped with a lawn boy high lift blade. The bag kit was easy to install, but I did have to loosen the two guide bolts in order to mount the chute. The instructions said that it was unnecessary, but it made the install much much easier, and has no impact on safety. As with other baggers, the grass must be dry in order for this system to be effective. It can clog quickly under damp conditions. I have found that if I walk the yard prior to mowing, and my boots become damp, then it's too wet. Once you start mowing the position of the bag never gets in the way of trimming, or other wise working around close objects such asshrubs. The only time that it can begin to get in the way is when starting the mower. The brackets are quite close to the pull rope at the top of the handle. This has never been a problem for me, it's just close enough for it to become a concern in my mind. Emptying the bagger is a breeze. It simply lifts off, opens wide, closes easily, and sits back on. no clips, straps or anything. It is very well designed in that manner. The mower when equipped with the high lift blade leaves nothing behind. It also does a very good job of cutting the grass very finely. This product produces a professional cut with minimal effort. I highly recommend this product, and would purchase another lawn boy product.

American Lawn Mower 1ST-SP Reel Mower Grass Catcher Review

(More customer reviews)I bought a Scotts 2000-20-20 and wanted a Grass Catcher with it. Though all the reviewers warned of not having the instructions to attach this grass catcher to Scotts 2000, I went ahead and bought it. My catcher arrived with no instructions at all. Fortunately, the same model was available in my Home Depot and I went through the instructions. Completely useless.

Here are the instructions and the material you will need. This is what works great for me. Your experience may vary

1. Place catcher close to the Black rod behind the catcher.
2. The grass is thrown to your left, if you standing behind the catcher. So place the catcher to the extreme left of the black rod. The space on the right hand is not a problem.
3. Cut four square patches of small Velcro and attach to 2 pieces to the black rod and 2 pieces to the catcher on either end where the steel rod is exposed. This prevents the catcher from sliding to the right.
4. Use a strip of velcro to attach the catcher securely to the black rod.
5. You are in business. Go cut some grass.

The velcro helps in detaching the catcher from the scotts for easy storage (duct tape works, but is too hard to remove. You can use twistix, but the catcher slides)
