Ariens Zoom42 (42") 16.5-HP Zero Turn Lawn Mower - 915141 Review

Ariens Zoom42 16.5-HP Zero Turn Lawn Mower - 915141

I own two acres and the Ariens Zoom 42" zero turn mower is perfect for me.It has a peppy 16.5 Briggs engine with a spin on oil filter.Prior to my purchase of the Ariens and with much weed eating, it took me almost 5 hours to do my lawn. With the Ariens, it takes 2 hours including minimal weed eating.Because of its very adept handling, I had little to do once I finished the main mowing. It took about an hour to get used to the steering set up and the lack of brakes. The mower is comfortable with springs under the seat.A push pedal is used to raise and lower the mower deck making it very simple to adjust the cut.The 42" cut is great to get around trees and bushes while it's large enough to cover a considerable area. The only gripe I have is something that is probably my fault.I inadvertently hit a small poplar tree trunk with the rubber/plastic/composite grass shield and split it in half.I've never had this happen before with any mower.I spliced it back together with rivets and pieces of sheet metal, and it's holding up.I bought the Ariens because it was made in America, because of its reasonable price, and because of Consumer Reports and other reviews I have read.

Eazy Mow New Lawn Mower Swivel Wheel Kit Makes Any Push Or Self-Propelled Mower A Zero-Turn Review

Eazy Mow New Lawn Mower Swivel Wheel Kit Makes Any Push Or Self-Propelled Mower A Zero-Turn

Company's web site said it would fit my model mower but it did not. I had to fab up my own solution to make it fit. However, it's a good idea and now that I have it installed it works well. It is well constructed. However, if you are not adept at mechanical work and you do not see your exact model of mower on the companies web site I would not recommend that you make this purchase. I my case I had to add a separate metal plate to both sides, drill holes to mount it to the mower as well as holes for the kit in order to make the kit fit my Toro.

Product Description:
If you like the factory swivel wheel mowers, but not their cost, then you'll really like our Eazy Mow swivel wheel accessory. It is the only product that allows anyone quickly and inexpensively to upgrade their push or self-propelled mower from a standard wheel mower to their very own zero-turn, swivel wheel mower. Better yet, you'll save hundreds of dollars compared to any factory mower with swivel wheels. Mowing the lawn is basically a dreaded chore, but with Eazy Mow you can zip around trees, flower beds or any obstacle with little or no effort. Eazy Mow eliminates strain, struggle and over exertion because there's never any need to lift your mower to make a turn or to reverse your mowing. Even the tightest turns are all very simple with a quick and easy 180 degree turn. Our customers say they can't imagine anyone not needing this product if they own a walk-behind mower. Being universal, our swivel wheel system replaces one set of standard wheels and height adjusters (front or rear) on walk-behind push and self-propelled mowers. In all cases you will be replacing the non-drive wheels. Our product installs using your factory mounting holes and in most cases there's only need to remove one bolt and nut per wheel assembly. It's very simple and only takes a few minutes. Easy to read instructions and illustrations are provided. Simply put, Eazy Mow saves you time, money, greatly reduces your workload and is compatible with practically every mower brand and model from 1981 to date 2007. Some of those are: Craftsman, AYP, Toro, Honda, Ariens, Huskee, Murray, Yard Man, Yard Machine, White, Troy-Bilt, Bolens, Husqvarna, John Deere, Stanley, Poulan, Southland, Power Pro, Weedeater, K-Pro and many others.

Weed Eater WE-ONE 26-Inch 190cc Briggs & Stratton 875 Series Gas Powered Riding Lawn Mower With Electric Start Review

With this being a new item this year, early availability has been low.Found that one of the Big Box retailers had received one or two each and thought I'd snag one quick as they could be in short supply.Going on faith, as no reviews to be found yet, I brought one home still crated. Was very pleased with quality at first sight, found it to be very simple to assemble and it started right up with just some fuel...oil already installed.I had read about the new Briggs 875 engine and although no HP rating, the 8.75 torqe rating was listed. The engine is very quiet with a nice muffler system and it moves the mower over grass very well.Engaging the mower deck (belt driven so do so slowly, the noise level increases while turning the drive pulleys and the blade and the enging revs with the increased load.As it is only mid March, I haven't cut grass with it yet, but I expect it will do so nicely. There are 3 forward speeds and I am hopeful that it will cut well at the fastest because the lower two are a bit slow for long stretches, but nice for going against walkways, etc. There are only four cutting heights available with the middle two being approximately 2 1/4 and 3 1/4 high.I expect that I may wish it had another height in between these, say about 2 3/4, as the highest and lowest will probably not be useful for me.While the ergonomics seem fine so far, the seat appears to have cushioned sections but they are no softer than the rest of it.Given the low price, I can't really quibble with that and I will likely use a stadium seat pad if uncomfortable as is.Controls seem convenient and sightlines for cutting are good.26" cut is relatively small, but hopefully will be made up for by speed and less walking. The specs say that the blade is designed for mulching and bagging, but the accessories (mulch kit or bag) are not yet available but the mulch kit is expected to be soon. The turning circle is not tight, as I expected for this type of unit, so a few perimeter runs will likely be needed to gain area for turning for the mid-lawn runs.My property is only 120' square, but significantly larger lots may demand a wider cut and more features.Having said that, this unit is fairly small, of low complexity (one blade) and if it cuts well should meet the needs of many homeowners. It is not a tractor, so towing attachments doesn't appear to be an option, but that allows for a smaller motor and footprint in the garage.Lastly, I like that it is in cruise control when moving, no foot on the gas, only the brake/clutch when needed (it actually has a brake pad and rotor).I will review grass cutting later in the Spring.

Product Description:
The new Weed Eater One redefines affordability for easy lawn maintenance. Designed from the ground up for YOU, it is the first compact personal riding mower on the market. Every aspect of the design process took into consideration your feedback on what consumers want in a riding mower. The Weed Eater One boasts a powerful Briggs & Stratton engine, a solid 26-inch cutting deck that delivers a precise, even cut and plenty of comfort features for a smooth and enjoyable ride. It's simply the ONE. The Weed Eater One is fully electric start, all you have to do is turn the key. A simple control on the left allows the operator to adjust the cutting height from approximately 1.5 to 4 inches. Features three drive speeds; speed one is for edging, speed two is for regular grass cutting, and three is for faster transport. Release your foot while in any of the three forward gears and you will be in cruise control for a relaxed cut. Spans approximately 36 inches wide, allowing it to easily fit through a standard yard gate, just lift up the deck chute handle. The Weed Eater One stores flatter against the wall in a garage and with its ability to maneuver in tight spaces, it reduces the need to touch up areas with a push mower or string trimmer, saving you time and money on quality results. An intuitive and easy to use pedal allows the operator to control the brake and clutch with one foot. Pressing down applies the brake, while lifting engages the clutch to propel forward. The 26 inch cutting deck is made of 13 gauge steel and can handle all the bumps and bruises without denting. The deeper deck combined with an efficient single blade design allows for superior airflow resulting in a more uniform cut quality and reduced chance of scalping in uneven terrain. Features a wide step-through frame with incorporated non-slip foot rests so you can mount and dismount safely from either side.
