(More customer reviews)These are great replacement blades at a terrific price for my rider mower. Only on Amazon.com am I able to buy these high lift blades. I'm telling you, they are really hard to find at Sears. The blades don't have paint on them but who cares? How long does the paint stay on mower blades anyways? They are very sharp and balanced, when you get in the mail and you really can't beat the price. The quality of the steel used is thick so you don't have to worry about them wearing out on you so soon. I give this purchase five stars.

The company was very thorough with the order, even emailing me to verify the model number of my tractor to ensure I got the right part.The parts are of good quality and everything was packaged well.They even included 2 bags of bolts that were completely unnecessary.The bearing units already came with bolts, and the shippers added duplicates into the package. Very thorough.The only thing missing is the upper sheave for the drive belt.I had to remove and use my old one, but that's no big deal if you have access to some decent tools. I am very pleased with this kit and would recommend it to anyone, and would purchase it again with no reservations.

I have replaced this belt twice with Craftsman OEM products with less than satisfying results so I was interested in the quality of the Oregon brand. I found the belt to be superior in construction to Craftsman and noted several layers of reinforced stitching that Craftsman belts do not have. The belt engaged faster and the mower will now handle tall grass without belt slip. This belt is by far superior to the OEM and the price makes it worth waiting for. I should also note the product shipped the same day I ordered it, and it was on my front porch the next afternoon.

(More customer reviews)Interesting to note that no one has commented on how belts have performed after a good amount of service. Any belts will perform well initially. The reality is that these belts have about one fifth of the service life of a quality belt. Mine came apart after less than one season of mowing. That would be fine for me if they were one fifth the price of a good belt, but they are not.I routinely buy cheap stuff and usually get away with it. Not this time. Recommend you save yourself the time and money and just go buy your belts at Tractor Supply.

(More customer reviews)I've been reading the mixed reviews on belt quality. I expect to get from 100-150 hours out of a belt. I replace both mower deck belts 174368/174369 during the same season. I purchased my 1st set from Sears. They lasted almost 2 seasons (around 100 hours). I just installed new belts this season. They have already seen alot of abuse due to extremely high/wet grass. Most belts that break prematurely, break because of 1 of 2 reasons: neglect, due to heavy build-up on the top and/or bottom of the mower deck. Wet grass built up on the bottom creates extra work for the mower/drive belts. Heavy grass build-up on the top of the deck pushes the belt upward, not allowing it to track properly. Clean your mower deck after each use especially if you are mowing high grass. This will extend the life of your belts. The second cause is mechanical (1) misalignment, or (2) binding due to lack of lubrication (my deck has grease fittings) in either case the mower deck will need to be removed and inspected for damage. You should get 1-2 seasons (100+ hours) out of a any belt with proper preventative maintenance.I will update this if necessary.

My only criticism is the product itself, called "heavy duty" but where spindle housings break, near mounting bolt holes, is not significantly thicker. As with other housings, appears to be an intentional weak point. Regardless, OutdoorPowerDeals did fine by me.

(More customer reviews)I own two acres and the Ariens Zoom 42" zero turn mower is perfect for me.It has a peppy 16.5 Briggs engine with a spin on oil filter.Prior to my purchase of the Ariens and with much weed eating, it took me almost 5 hours to do my lawn.With the Ariens, it takes 2 hours including minimal weed eating.Because of its very adept handling, I had little to do once I finished the main mowing.It took about an hour to get used to the steering set up and the lack of brakes.The mower is comfortable with springs under the seat.A push pedal is used to raise and lower the mower deck making it very simple to adjust the cut.The 42" cut is great to get around trees and bushes while it's large enough to cover a considerable area.The only gripe I have is something that is probably my fault.I inadvertently hit a small poplar tree trunk with the rubber/plastic/composite grass shield and split it in half.I've never had this happen before with any mower.I spliced it back together with rivets and pieces of sheet metal, and it's holding up.I bought the Ariens because it was made in America, because of its reasonable price, and because of Consumer Reports and other reviews I have read.

(More customer reviews)I went to Sears to find a replacement for my 19 year old, 12.5hp, 42" Craftsman lawn tractor and came home with the Snapper LT130.What a difference!I have no complaints about my old tractor - it has performed exceptionally well, but the Snapper seemed to be reading my mind as I went around the yard.Very smooth, responsive, and no lack of power.I was apprehensive at first about the 4 wheel steering, but would not go back to 2 wheel. The tractor seems to be well made with heavy duty parts where it counts.I look forward to many years mowing with the LT130.
3-21-2010: After putting a few hours on the machine I realize that the steering is a bit heavy.I have no problem with it, but someone with limited strength might find it difficult.Still an excellent mower!
4-27-10: I just ordered "high lift" blades for the tractor. (Murray P/N 92117) My "country lawn" is a bit thick for the mulching blades that came with the tractor. The deck gets clogged and really slows down production. I'll post an update when I get the new blades installed. I still say the mower is great, though...
6-19-10 New blades work much better. Mulching blades would probably work well if you mowed on a more regular basis than I do.

Tired of trying to install spindles with the self tapping bolts? This is a newly released replacement for the 130794 spindle assembly that comes with 3 mounting bolts and the mounting holes are tapped. The FSP and replacements have previously been untapped and difficult to install without an impact wrench. Even with an impact wrench installing was sometimes difficult, bolts would break. This new design has fixed that problem. Imporant! Be sure to install the spacer under the pulley (between the pulley and top bearing). Failure to install spacer or installing the spacer above the pulley will result in damage to the shaft and pulley.
